**Extra Software**
We install the following applications for free for clients upon initial setup, however not all clients want us to do this. Below is a list of applications that we can/will install if asked. Please browse through the list and check off any applications that you'd like for us to install for you. If you have any questions on any of these items, please feel free to email support:

[ ] ACiD/Snort IDS software - This software will analyze network traffic and detect attempts to compromise your machine. It comes in two parts - a back end that actually logs the traffic, and a front end that allows you to browse the compromise attempts and find explanations as to what is being tried. If you choose this option, it is highly recommended that you check the front end and clear out the alerts on a regular basis (otherwise, they build up so much that it's not really useful)

[ ] MailScanner/Clamav - This software will scan all incoming mail and filter virus-laden attachments for you. It updates nightly, so virus definitions will be kept up to date. The default action of this software is that it will save the virus attachments on the server in a separate folder, in case of the rare false-positive.

[ ] iftop - This software will display, in a graphical manner, where bandwidth is going in a real-time fashion. Much like the 'top' command, there's a variety of options to modify the display of information.

[ ] mytop - If you're expecting to use a script that has a lot of database accesses, or are reselling web hosting on your machine, mytop may be just the thing for you. Like iftop, there's a variety of information that can be displayed about your database access in real time.

[ ] Software Firewalling - Highly recommended, we can setup a script for you that will firewall off ports that aren't/shouldn't be used, and also do things such as rate limit ping requests (stops people from flooding your machine with ping requests). IP addresses, or blocks of IP addresses, can be setup to be blocked with a simple command with this software.

[ ] Rudimentary /tmp partition cleaner - This will remove old, stale session files, cpanel temp files, and others on a nightly basis.
